Grant Weed

Grant dedicated four decades of practice to serving municipal clients and other public agencies and handled all areas of municipal law—including land use, open public meetings, public records, public works contracting, risk management, and much more. Grant’s exemplary legal career earned him recognition as a frequent guest speaker and lecturer on municipal issues, by Law and Politics Magazine as a Washington Super Lawyer for 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012, and by the Washington State Association of Municipal Attorneys as an Honorary Life Member for over 30 years in municipal practice.

Grant began his legal career when he graduated from Lewis & Clark Law School and was admitted to practice in Washington State in 1980. He joined the firm in 1985, originally known as Wilcox and Allendoerfer, Inc., P.S., after serving as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Everett. He was a Managing Partner of the firm for years through different name changes, including Weed, Graafstra & Associates, Inc., P.S., until he began serving as Of Counsel in 2021 when Nikki Thompson and Emily Guildner became Managing Partners. Grant retired from Thompson, Guildner & Associates, Inc., P.S. in June 2022.
