Thompson, Guildner & Associates, Inc., P.S.

In 2021, Attorneys Nikki Thompson and Emily Guildner became Managing Partners of Weed, Graafstra & Associates, Inc., P.S. In 2022, we completed our firm name change to Thompson, Guildner & Associates, Inc., P.S. The firm was first established in 1971 and was originally known as Wilcox and Allendoerfer, Inc., P.S. Over the years, the firm has established itself in Snohomish County and beyond as a leader in the representation of cities, fire districts and other special-purpose districts. Additionally, we provide legal services to private clients on a variety of matters including commercial and private real estate matters, contracts, business law, estate planning, and probate.

Our practice philosophy is to assist both our private and public entity clients in avoiding and resolving problems. We work closely with our clients to help them spot potential difficulties early — before such situations escalate to costly litigation. However, we also recognize that not every situation can be effectively resolved or avoided in its early stages. When necessary, our attorneys utilize their creative problem-solving skills to assist in finding a resolution in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Thompson, Guildner & Associates, Inc., P.S. employs six attorneys with a breadth of experience and specialties. Managing Partner Nikki Thompson joined the firm in January 2020 after serving as the Oak Harbor City Attorney for several years. Managing Partner Emily Guildner came to the firm in October 2013 and specializes in private client work with estate planning, probate, and property disputes. Former Of Counsel Attorney Grant Weed retired from the firm on June 30, 2022, after 42 years of service as a municipal attorney. Of Counsel Attorney Thom (“Tom”) Graafstra joined the firm in 1991 and brought with him a broad spectrum of expertise in the areas of land use, regulatory reform, open public meetings, public records, and tort and litigation defense. Senior Associate Attorney Erin Lewis joined the firm in January 2022 after serving as the Assistant City Attorney for the City of Oak Harbor. Tara Kalar joined the firm in May 2022 as a Senior Associate Attorney, working remotely from her home in Minnesota prior to her move to Washington. Tara previously served as a Senior Human Services Judge and is admitted in Minnesota and Washington. Of Counsel Attorney Noel Treat joined the firm in June 2022 after serving as the Chief Human Resource Officer for Seattle Public Schools.
